On the studio floor
A sampling of unusual projects now being created in our custom
services department

Walnut Ceiling Beams

We'll have to wait for the photos of the finished project to
explain this one. But you don't need to know exactly what it is to appreciate
the hand-dovetailed joinery of this solid walnut component.
One of a set of two. Look for the posted photos in

Hampshire Vanity
 |
Walnut and walnut burl, with gilded accents in genuine 23.5k
gold, followed by genuine silver, burnished-through just so.
So if I were stranded on a desert island, and could only build
just one cabinet over and over again... |

|
Radius crown molding
 |
Created for a small quarter round display cabinet.
|
Burl commode
 |
Solid ash and olive ash burl.
Just readied for the
finishing room, the hinging was removed before I could snap the photo (thus the
radius doors sitting on the bench). Oh well, take a look at the Soss hinge
mortises.
As light colored as this piece is now, the finishing process
will transform it into a rich brown with silver-bronze accents.
Besides,
these lagniappe furniture pieces keep the guys sane between the
ten-thousand part behemoth projects. |

Come on back, they'll be more next month, or sooner if the mood
strikes me!
